The Community Development Department is responsible for guiding the growth and development of the Town in a way that is sustainable, safe, and consistent with the community’s vision for the future. Its responsibilities include planning, zoning, permitting, building inspections, and code enforcement.
By working closely with residents, businesses, and developers, the department ensures that new projects meet local ordinances and standards while supporting balanced growth that protects the Town’s character and enhances the overall quality of life.
The mission of the Community Development Department is to provide professional and responsive service in support of thoughtful planning, responsible development, and public safety. Through effective long-range planning, fair and consistent application of codes, and open communication with the public, the department is committed to fostering a well-planned, vibrant, and resilient community.
